पूर्व गृह मंत्री पी चिदंबरम की गिरफ्तारी का पाकिस्तान ने विरोध किया है. पाकिस्तानी संसद में सीनेटर रहमान मलिक ने कहा कि 370 पर सवाल उठाने के कारण पी चिदंबरम को गिरफ्तार किया गया है. यह कश्मीर के हालात से ध्यान हटाने की कोशिश है. प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने राष्ट्रीय स्वयं सेवक संघ (आरएसएस) को खुली छूट दी है.
सीनेटर ने आशंका जताई है कि आने वाले दिनों में विपक्षी नेताओं की और गिरफ्तारी होगी ताकि सभी विरोधी आवाज़ों को दबाया जा सके.

रहमान मलिक ने कहा कि जब चिदंबरम इस्लामाबाद में सार्क सम्मेलन में भाग लेने के लिए पाकिस्तान आए थे, तो उन्होंने उन्हें आगाह किया था कि भारत में हिंदू कट्टरपंथियों की नई ब्रिगेड खड़ी होने जा रही है. मलिक ने बताया कि उस समय, मैं सहमत नहीं था, लेकिन बाद में स्वीकार करना पड़ा कि चिदंबरम सही थे.
रहमान मलिक ने कहा पीएम मोदी केवल कश्मीरियों को नहीं मार रहे हैं, बल्कि उन राजनेताओं को भी निशाना बना रहे हैं जो उनकी अतिवादी विचारधारा का विरोध कर रहे हैं. मलिक ने अंतरराष्ट्रीय समुदाय और मानवाधिकार संगठनों का आह्वान किया कि वे निर्दोष कश्मीरियों के खिलाफ हो रहे अत्याचार को नोटिस लें.
